All we have at the end of the day...

Well, I'm here.

Hahah, that sounds so underwhelming considering all the hype I've built up in myself these past few months. No, I'm not jumping up and down with joy to be back, but... it's more like a wheel in a clock clicked into place and so everything just seems right again.

Of course, it's immensely different from last year. Yes, I'm living with my best friend here, but we know maybe three other people in our building. The unimaginably tight-knit group that we built last year has been completely split up, with people living in Union Square, the Financial District, and everywhere in between. It's not an insurmountable difficulty, as there hasn't been a day yet in which I haven't seen at least five or six old friends, but it's definitely different. I mean... we actually have to COOK this year. Sad as this sounds, I haven't cooked a thing yet, even having been here since last Saturday, but I'm really going to! Tomorrow! I really do have to start cooking, because... well, I have to start eating! Seriously, I've been practically beerorexic these past few days.

Anyway, I need to hit the road. Roomie and I are going down to Water Street to visit our friends (and their two full walls of windows overlooking the river, bridges, and... god, I'm going to faint with jealousy if I go on). It's good to be back, y'all.
